Very unsatisfied with this grinder. I've looked up information to see if it is functioning as expected or not, but the grind is uneven at best and often with long gaps in time where i'm waiting for new peppercorns to drop into the grinding burrs. It's almost like it's missing a spring to push up against the top and maintain tension because there's so much play between the top and the base, and yet if I tighten it down further the grind becomes too fine. I had a mid-level grinder I had been using for the last 20 years that I decided to replace with this one. I thought I was taking a step up in quality, but I really just miss the old grinder and think about switching back to it every time I pick this one up and have to struggle to find a way to support it while grinding in order to get it to work. Super disappointing.
